Geelong’s Final Inspection and PCI Specialists
An independent handover inspection by Manse Group’s team of experienced building Assessors ensures peace of mind to homeowners during one of the most important parts of the building journey.
Final inspections can also be referred to as Practical Completion Inspections (PCI), new home presentations, handover inspections, or defects inspections, essentially mean the same thing. They are a critical part of the contractual process when building and take place once the construction of the home is deemed complete.
Engaging an expert Building Consultant to complete with an independent final PCI inspection ensures any defects and concerns are identified so that the builder can rectify them before handover takes place and you receive the keys to your new home.
The purpose of our independent final inspection is to reduce the risk to your investment by:
- Identifying any incomplete works
- Highlighting any safety concerns
- Ensuring the quality of workmanship is within tolerance
- Ensuring that the build is in accordance with your contractual documentation
- Giving peace of mind to homeowners that they will receive a quality finished home
Manse Group’s Handover, New Home and Practical Completion Inspection (PCI) inspections are completed by VBA Registered Building Practitioners. We maintain professionalism and a facts-based approach at all times, typically referring to the National Construction Code (NCC)/Building Code of Australia (BCA), Relevant Australian Standards, Victorian Building Authority’s Guide to Standards & Tolerances and Specific manufacturer’s specifications. Our thorough handover inspections highlight items that are not covered by the mandatory inspection carried out by the Relevant Building Surveyor.
Our comprehensive reports highlight defects and/or potential issues that could result in costly re-works, delays or issues down the track. They are clear and simple to read ensuring the Site Supervisor and the relevant trades know the exact location of the non-compliant item and can therefore easily close it out.
Our thorough final inspections typically take 4-6 hours depending on the size of the home. Items and areas assessed can include:
- Floor finishes
- Cabinetry
- Taps and waste pipes
- Wet areas
- Kitchen caulking and splashback sealed
- Wall & floor tiling
- Vanities, baths, basins
- Electrical items as per plan
- Services are connected
- External brickwork
- Cladding and render
- Roof, fascia, gutters and eaves
- Inside the roof space
- Window and door frames/glazing
- Finished ground levels around house
- Concrete driveway and paving (if included)
- External doors sealed
- Internal walls, cornices and ceilings
- Doors, architraves and skirtings
